yeah, put everything in your home folder (that's /home/username, or ~) Of course, you can create a heirarchy inside of your home folder. But home folders are life savers. Especially when migrating/backing up/etc.

It won't be able to if any process has that as the cwd (current working directory). If you have a terminal open, say, and you're looking around on the drive, you can't eject it. Change directories, close whatever windows you open that are looking at the drive, etc, etc, *then* eject it.
